Our Team’s Holiday Recommendations

All of our team live local to the Holiday Park and enjoy many different days out. Living in this area between us we have explored many of the amazing places around North Wales has to offer, but we are all still also finding new adventures all the time. From family days out to a nice place to eat, we will use this space to recommend things we have recently done and enjoyed.

Greenwood Forest Park

Sea fishing…

A member of our team has been enjoying fishing off Llanddulas beach regularly for some time now. At the right time of year you can catch some lovely bass, mackerel, dogfish and plaice (among others). 2018 saw the world Angling championships being held in Conwy county proving it to be a great “plaice” to fish…

Llandudno Pier

Conwy Mountain Walk

Our staff enjoy going walking in their spare time and will regularly recommend local walks to our visitors. One we have done many times is Conwy mountain. It’s a beautiful spot, you can park at the Sychnant pass and walk up and over the path to Conwy and back, taking in the breathtaking views (on a good day). This walk is around 3 miles each way and is generally easy-going with a few ups and downs. North Wales is an amazing place for walking, pop into reception for directions to Conwy mountain.

Bodnant Gardens

Snowdon, Rhyd Ddu Path…

Walking all the footpaths up Snowdon is an amazing experience not to be missed. The Rhyd Ddu path is one of the best for views but a favorite walk is the Pyg track and down using the Miners track. Click on the link below for more information about the walks up Wales highest peak. http://www.mountainwalk.co.uk/walkingsnowdon.html

A trip to the Theatre…

Staff members all enjoy regular trips to the theatre; the Pavilion in Rhyl, Theatre Colwyn in Colwyn Bay and Venue Cymru in Llandudno.  Visits have included Calendar Girls, Shrek the Musical, The Band (Take That) and the Panto (oh yes we did!).  Up and coming visits in the next few months are Kinky Boots and Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (again).  You can check what’s coming up by clicking on the links below.

Eating out…

We love the new Indian Restaurant in the Village, The Little Indian Chef. Also the The Bull in Abergele which is only 10 minutes drive away. For a good value family meal there are two Brewers Fayre also around 10 minutes drive away, The Afon Conwy and The Craigside. Some good places to eat in Colwyn Bay recommended by Kay are The Toad, Virgilios and Bryn Williams.

Llanberis…

Located at the foot of Snowdon, with fantastic views across the lakes Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris, all of our team love a visit to Llanberis for various reasons. There is plenty to see and do, a free visit the Welsh slate museum (Apart from parking). An educational trip to Electric Mountain (an underground hydroelectric power station tour). If you like your trains, you can catch the Snowdon mountain railway to the summit or take the Llanberis railway around the shore of the lake. There are also plenty of walks from Llanberris, you could try the walk up Mount Snowdon itself, a gentle amble through the woods, around the lake or up through the old disused slate mines, something for all.
